This website basically contains a lot of links to various universities. Ones like Duke, Yale, Harvard, Notre Dame ... etc. And all of these links take the user to free online materials. Mostly, I think it is a project to help people in third-world countries or perhaps certain demographics of people in the US... to have access to quality education. But there's nothing stopping some poor classroom-hungry fool like me from learning about microeconomics or game theory or the French Revolution.
A lot of the universities seem to only post written materials (i.e. you can access lecture outlines, quizes, exams, power point slides, etc). ... but Yale University seems to record actual videos of all of their lectures. So you can sit through a whole semester about ... whatever topic you can find. (Yale's link is up toward the top of the page).
Let's just face it ... even books on Amazon still cost pocket change (at least, that's how some of us do it) ... but now you can sit in on tons of cool stuff for free...which means you can spend that change on something better than books. Like games.
